When and where
Skate America is the American stop on the Grand Prix, and this year it returns to Everett for the first time since 2018. Skaters earn points at each of the six events, and the top six in each discipline at the end of the series qualify for the Grand Prix Final in Chongqing, China, on December 10 to 13. The schedule below is U.S. Figure Skating's, in Pacific time, and the federation says it is subject to change.
| Day | Session |
|---|---|
| Thursday, November 12 | Official practice, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. |
| Friday, November 13 | Men's and pairs short programs, 7 p.m. |
| Saturday, November 14 | Rhythm dance and women's short program, 2 p.m., then men's and pairs free skates, 6:25 p.m. |
| Sunday, November 15 | Free dance and women's free skate, 11 a.m. |
The U.S. skaters entered
U.S. Figure Skating announced its final U.S. entries on October 21, and the women's event is where the field changed most. Amber Glenn has withdrawn as she continues on Dancing with the Stars, and Alexa Gasparotto, Logan Higase-Chen and Sophie Joline von Felten will all make their Grand Prix debuts for the United States. Last season Gasparotto became the eighth U.S. woman, and the first Black woman, to land a triple Axel in competition. Our Amber Glenn story has more on her season away from the rink.
The men's event has Ilia Malinin and Jason Brown, with Daniel Martynov joining them in his Grand Prix debut. Malinin became the youngest men's Skate America champion in history in 2022 and is chasing his fourth title there. Brown made the first of his six Skate America appearances in 2013, and if you want the backstory on Malinin, our Quad God explainer has it.
In pairs, U.S. champions Alisa Efimova and Misha Mitrofanov are joined by two new teams, Katie McBeath and Balazs Nagy, and Audrey Shin and Spencer Akira Howe. The ice dance teams are Emilea Zingas and Vadym Kolesnik, who won bronze at the World Championships last season, with Leah Neset and Artem Markelov, and Katarina Wolfkostin and Dimitry Tsarevski.

Build a bundleWho else is coming
The visiting field includes Belgium's Nina Pinzarrone, the reigning world bronze medalist, and Japan's Ami Nakai in the women's event. Among the men are Italy's Daniel Grassl and Nikolaj Memola and Mexico's Donovan Carrillo. In pairs, Germany's Minerva Hase and Nikita Volodin come in as the 2026 world champions. U.S. Figure Skating's lists carry the note that lineups are subject to change, so the names can still move before the weekend.
How to watch
U.S. Figure Skating says Skate America will be livestreamed on Peacock, where it stays for 72 hours after the event ends. The federation said the season's television schedule would come out in the fall, so check its Skate America page for any TV slots closer to the weekend. If you'd rather be in the building, single-session tickets are on sale, though the all-session ones are already sold out.
If you skate yourself
A weekend like this is easier to follow when you know what to look for, and it's a good chance to watch the moves you practice done at full speed (and to forgive yourself a little for your last lesson). Our guide to scoring explains how a program's marks add up, and our guide to every figure skating jump will help you name what you're seeing on the replay. If watching makes you want to compete, our guide to adult figure skating competitions in 2027 covers the adult sectionals, Adult Nationals and how to enter.
