Our Free Practice Tracker for Adult Figure Skaters

Our free practice tracker lets you log each session, set three goals a month and move your elements from learning to consistent, and it all saves on your own phone or computer. If you'd rather use paper, the printable goals tracker comes free when you join the email list.

Our free practice tracker lives on the site, so you can log a session before you leave the rink and watch your elements move from learning to consistent over the season.

We have a free practice tracker for adult figure skaters right here on the site. You log your session before you leave the rink, and over the season you can watch your elements move from learning to consistent. It all saves on the phone or computer you're using, so there's no account to make. If you've ever come off a freestyle and forgotten by dinner what your coach asked you to fix, a quick entry at the boards will save you.

What you can log

Each entry has the date, the kind of session it was (a lesson, a freestyle, a public session or off-ice work), how many minutes you were out there and what you worked on. You can tick elements from the full list or type in anything else, then rate how the session felt from 1, which means you got through it, to 5, which means you didn't want to get off. The page's own example is a 45 minute freestyle spent on a waltz jump and back crossovers, rated a 4, with a note that the coach wants a deeper knee bend on the landing. On a busy day a few words is plenty.

The Goals tab holds three goals for the month, and at the end of the month you write down what clicked, what fell apart and what you're changing next month. On the Elements tab you set each element to Learning when you start working on it with your coach, Landed once you've done it clean at least once, and Consistent when you'd trust it in a program. You can add a test or competition when you sign up for it and come back afterwards to note the result and what the judges said. There's also an optional costs section, if you'd like to see what skating really costs you, where you add ice time, lessons, gear and entry fees as you pay for them.

Where your log is saved

Your log lives in the browser on the phone or computer you use, and nothing is sent to us or anywhere else. That also means it doesn't sync between your devices, and if you clear your browser data, or Safari clears it after you haven't visited for a while, the log goes with it. Save a backup every so often from the bottom of the tracker, and you can restore it on the same device or on a new phone. You can also save your sessions as a spreadsheet.

If you'd rather use paper

The printable Skating Goals Tracker is still free, and we send it straight to your inbox when you join the email list. All three versions, US Letter, A4 and a black and white printer-friendly one, have the same 37 pages. Inside there are twelve monthly spreads, a two-page skill tracker, and pages for tests and competitions, program and music, coach feedback and wins. You can use both if you like, with the printable for planning ahead and the practice tracker for logging sessions at the rink.
