Care

Washing:

Turn the socks inside out and wash in cold water on a gentle cycle.

Use mild detergent to preserve the elasticity and fabric integrity.

Drying:

Air dry for best results, as high heat from dryers can weaken the elastic fibers.

If using a dryer, choose a low or delicate heat setting.

    Best skating socks ever!

I have a hard time finding skating socks that don't wind up with holes over my big toe after only a few skates. These AST socks are the bomb! I've got 6 pairs now, and the oldest ones have multiple skates on them, no holes, no problem! That I dig the navy color is just gravy😁

Skating FAQs

It's never too late to start ice skating! Many adults take up skating for fun, fitness, and even competition. With determination and practice, you can enjoy skating at any age.

Opt for comfortable clothing that allows freedom of movement, like leggings or athletic pants. Layering is key, so a fitted top with a warm sweater or jacket is ideal. Check out our super cute selection of skating tees and jackets! Don't forget gloves and thick socks to keep your hands and feet warm.

While not mandatory, wearing protective gear like a helmet and knee/elbow pads is recommended, especially for beginners. Safety should be a top priority.

Consider taking adult skating lessons offered by local rinks or skating clubs. These lessons are tailored to adults and can help you build confidence and learn the basics. Also, be sure to join our Facebook Group and network with other adult skaters in your area who may have advice for you!

It depends on your preference and learning style. Group lessons offer a social aspect and are often more affordable, while private lessons provide personalized attention and faster progress.

Falling is a natural part of learning to skate. Wearing protective gear and practicing falling safely can help alleviate fear. Gradually build confidence by starting with basic movements and balance exercises.

The learning curve varies for each individual. With consistent practice, adults can achieve basic proficiency in a few months. Becoming more skilled and confident on the ice may take longer. Ultimately, everybody progresses at their own pace, and the only thing that matters is if you are having fun!

After each session, wipe down the blades to prevent rust. AST offers branded ombre microfiber towels perfect for this. Store skates in a dry place and consider using blade guards when off the ice. Regularly check and tighten screws as needed.

Light stretching, leg swings, and ankle rotations can help warm up your muscles and joints before hitting the ice. It's important to start slowly to prevent injury.
